Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Glastonbury Unite To Help Vikki Drama

The dance music figure needs urgent treatment for her health...

The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Glastonbury Festival and more have united to raise funds for Multiple sclerosis sufferer, Vikki Drama.

A huge part of the UK dance music community for more than two decades, Vikki Drama – real name Victoria Saunders – began noticing issues with her health just over two years ago. Diagnosed with MS, she is battling a rapid decline in her health.

Taking matters into her own hands, Vikki Drama intends to fly to Mexico for life-saving HSCT (stem cell surgery). In a note discussing the move, she explains:

HSCT is not a treatment offered to Multiple Sclerosis sufferers like me in the UK currently. I have tried the DMT, the treatment offered by the NHS, but my physical health is still declining. What HSCT would be able to do is put the MS in remission in hope that my body ‘forgets’. It will be a slow uphill journey but I’m willing to do it as this is my only hope of regaining my life. It’s not a magic bullet and will take time to rebuild my strength but I am confident that I will be able to move forward from this.

It’s not cheap, though, and over the weekend Shoreditch pub The Star of Liverpool Street hosted a special fundraising event. DJs such as  DJ Heidi, Justin Robertson, Terry Farley, Sophie Lloyd, Frank Tope, Tayo and Bushwacka took part, raising more than £50,000.

Vikki still needs to raise another £10,000, and a silent auction has just been launched featuring some amazing merch. Items have been donated by The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Glastonbury Festival, Goldie, Andrew Weatherall’s estate, Bushwacka, Heidi and many, many more.

The full rundown of prizes can be found online, and the auction closes at 8pm on Sunday, December 17th.
