Chase & Status Win BRIT Producer Of The Year Award

And they'll perform live at the ceremony, too...

Chase & Status will be honoured with Producer Of The Year at the BRIT Awards.

The glitzy ceremony returns this weekend – March 2nd – at the O2 Arena in London, broadcast live on ITV. As is tradition, a handful of prizes are confirmed ahead of the ceremony, including Producer Of The Year.

This time round, DNB tag team Chase & Status have emerged triumphant. The sound system renegades released their latest album ‘2 RUFF, Vol. 1’ at the end of last year, crashing into the charts once more.

Remaining at the forefront, Chase & Status balance an intense love for jungle heritage with a desire to speak to the next generation. Claiming a BRIT, the duo comment:

“We couldn’t be more proud – we’ve been flying the flag for British music now for a long time, we’re super proud of all the music that has come out of the UK. As producers, and as a creative duo, I think we are probably in one of the best places we’ve been.”

That’s not all, though – Chase & Status will also perform on the night, alongside Becky Hill.

Clash spoke to Chase & Status last year, with Will Kennard telling us:

People throw off their worries – it’s a form of escapism. Speaking to fans, they always tell you the first time they heard your music and where it took them. It’s amazing to think what our music has done for people.
