Chartreuse Intrigue With Soulful Rocket ‘Three Days’

It's a bold introduction from the group...

Chartreuse know to make an impression.

Take that name: it's both a French liquor and a mythological colour that cannot be seen when printed.

There's something colourful and intoxicating about the music, too, with this Black Country group matching indie-flecked songwriting to a rich sense of soul.

A full EP is incoming, following sessions in Tottenham alongside producer Luke Smith.

It's debut single 'Three Days' that has caught our attention, however, with its precocious power recalling The National at their most affecting.

The voices of Michael Wagstaff and Harriet Wilson intertwine, this push and pull that allows Chartreuse to surge into unexpected territory.

Early days, of course, but there seems to be something quite promising indeed at play in their work.

Catch Chartreuse supporting Puma Blue at London's EartH on October 30th.
