Chart Round Up

Foals, Raconteurs Storm Album Charts

Another week, another entertaining chart round up…

The singles chart is refreshingly free of Clash fodder this week, choosing instead to highlight such works of genius as Estelle’s “American Boy” – in at number one, kids! Elsewhere, the world turns, tides change and Nickelback’s “Rockstar” remains in the top ten like some childish prank played on us all.

The album chart provides more uplifting reading, with our friend Duffy clinging onto number one like a pensioner holding onto their last Werther’s Original. Elsewhere, Foals take their “Antidotes” to number three, whilst the Raconteurs’ rush-released second album “Consolers of the Lonely” follows at eight.

Guillemots have punctured the top ten with new album “Red” – I wonder what their plans for the weekend could be? Former Clash Club stars Supergrass released the quite nifty album “Diamond Hoo Ha” last week, and it claims nineteenth spot.
