Charlotte Lawrence Plucks At The Heartstrings On ‘Bodybag’

LA alt-pop voice Charlotte Lawrence returns with new single ‘Bodybag’.

Out now, the song was teased with a high profile TV placement, taking pride of place in Apple TV’s new smash hit series Shrinking – starring Jason Segal and Harrison Ford. Beautiful ballad, it matches some of Charlotte’s most sonically pretty music to date with ultra-raw lyricism.

A song about losing someone, being cheated on, and somehow finding a path through it, ‘Bodybag’ seems to revel in love at all costs. Driven by that impassioned vocal, the steady pace of its unravelling is matched to some caustic word play – “my father thinks you’re full of shit…”

Charlotte Lawrence digs deep on a song that explores pain at its realest, using the tiniest details to pierce more shards through your heart. Rarely has sadness been depicted in such an alluring and empathetic fashion.

“I want to share pain and heartbreak and sex and all the emotions everybody feels,” says Charlotte Lawrence, “and hopefully people can connect to that and relate. I always thought that I shouldn’t be vocal about what I wanted to do. I was shy and scared. Finally I’ve grown enough as a person that I feel confident to say I want to perform in arenas and share my music with as many people as I can. I wanna do everything.”

Tune in now.
