Charlotte Gainsbourg has revealed plans for a new EP featuring a collaboration with Villagers.
Model turned actress turned singer, critics began sharpening their knives when Charlotte Gainsbourg spoke of her wish to make music. Yet confounding expectations, the singer’s output to date has been mighty impressive.
Exhibit 1: ‘IRM’. A collaboration with Beck, the album was a thought-provoking, genuinely emotional experience.
Now Charlotte Gainsbourg has confirmed plans to release a new EP. ‘Terrible Angels’ is due to be released on September 5th, with the short collection of songs containing some mouth-watering collaborations.
A previously unreleased cut composed with Beck has been confirmed, alongside a collaboration with Mercury nominated Irish songwriter Conan O’Brien. Better known as Villagers, the songwriter revealed plans for a collaboration last year.
Now the sessions seem to have born fruit. Titled ‘Memoir’ the new track is featured alongside a live rendition of ‘Terrible Angels’ and a concert version of the Bob Dylan classic ‘Just Like A Woman’.
Not content with a musical release, Charlotte Gainsbourg has thrown in two videos as well. The concert version of ‘Just Like A Woman’ is shown in full, alongside a live version of ‘Terrible Angels’.
The flood of unreleased material continues later in the year. Previously announced double-LP ‘Stage Whisper’ is set to be released on November 8th, containing 11 live tracks and seven studio tracks.
Charlotte Gainsbourg is due to release ‘Terrible Angels’ on September 5th.
