Charlie Fink Announces Debut Album ‘Cover My Tracks’

The album will be accompanied by a show of the same name...

A full two years after he first announced his solo ambitions, Noah And The Whale’s frontman Charlie Fink has confirmed that his debut LP ‘Cover My Tracks’ will be released on June 2nd.

Fink has compared the album, which features backing vocals from The Staves and guitar-work from acclaimed classical guitarist Laura Snowden, to the sound of Noah and the Whale’s 2011 record, ‘The First Days Of Spring’.

“The idea of simple, storytelling songs appealed to me,” he explains, “I feel like we could have followed up ‘The First Days Of Spring’ quite naturally with this record.”

The accompanying play, also called Cover My Tracks, was written by Fink with award-winning playwright David Greig and directed by Max Webster. The trio previously worked together on The Old Vic’s 2015 musical adaptation of Dr Suess’s The Lorax.

It follows the aftermath of a songwriter’s disappearance and a listener’s realisation that his lyric book contains clues about his fate.

Fink will star alongside Jade Anouka, who recently starred as Mark Anthony, Hotspur and Ariel in the Donmar Warehouse’s Shakespeare Trilogy at Kings Cross.

‘Cover My Tracks’ will be released on June 2nd.
