Brooklyn dream pop trio Chairlift are due to release their first album on new home Columbia, with ‘Does It Inspire You?’ set to hit the shops on May 11th.
Last year proved to be a whirlwind time for Chairlift, with the group playing shows to ever increasing audiences. The band originally released ‘Does It Inspire You?’ through their previous home of Kanine Records.
Attracting the attention of Columbia, the group enjoyed much success while independent with their track ‘Bruises’ appearing on an iPod advert last year.
The newly expanded version of the album will come with two new tracks “Dixie Gypsy” and “Le Flying Saucer Hat”. Typically dreamy, the new songs hint at future directions for the band with their use of psychedelia, lounge pop and even different languages.
Prior to the release of the album, Chairlift will unveil their single ‘Evident Utensil’. Due out on May 4th, the single is a brilliant blast of breezy pop as only Chairlift can conjure up.
