Japanes four-piece CHAI have signed to Heavenly Recordings and will release new mini-LP 'PINK' on October 12th.
The hyper-animated group exemplify the Japanese veneration of 'kawaii' - essentially a cult-like devotion to cute, fey sensuality.
Sounding not unlike a garage punk Superorganism or a future-forward Go! Team, CHAI's material is a whirlwind of kinetic rhythms, sped up voices, and saccharine laden choruses.
New mini LP 'PINK' arrives on October 12th, with the group sharing vivid new song 'N.E.O'. Ultra-infectious and impossible to ignore, it's a plea for individuality, for self-love, a hymn to empowerment through a culture that adopts the plastic, the disposable.
CHAI comment: “Everyone, if we could be exactly who we are, that would be great right? Worrying is normal you know? Complexes are individuality. Complexes are art. Kawaii is a never-ending journey! This is “N.E.O. Kawaii”!!!!! Enjoy.”
