Casiokids Single News

Energetic Norwegians return

Norwegian electro-poppers Casiokids have confirmed details of their forthcoming single ‘Finn Bikkjen!/Gomur Mamma’.

Casiokids are one of the most unusual record breakers around. The band sing in their native tongue, making them the first group to release a single in Norwegian in British recording history.

Taking their name from the bashed up old keyboards they used when starting out, Casiokids have become a little more sophisticated since then. The band blend Afrobeat rhythms with electronic music to craft something uniquely uplifting.

After a chance meeting with Moshi Moshi’s A&R people at a showcase event in Norway, Casiokids ended up signing to the house of indie. Now onto their third single, the band are preparing to collect their initial run of singles onto a full length album later this year.

ClashMusic recently caught up with Casiokids to talk about their early success. No, it wasn’t in Norwegian and you can read it HERE!

Getting rave reviews, the band’s high energy live show saw them personally requested as tour support by Manchester giants Doves. Sadly for Doves fans prone to arriving early, Casiokids couldn’t make it.

‘Finn Bikkjen!/Gomur Mamma’ is the band’s forthcoming third single. Deeply percussive, the tracks offer up something much more murky than previous efforts. Casiokids seem to have fallen in love with the depths of dub, with ‘Gomur Mamma’ full of distorted bass.

The single’s main track ‘Finn Bikkjen!’ meanwhile is a bouncy sunshine pop tune that will no doubt go down a storm at this summer’s festivals. With Casiokids planned a host of UK dates including Bestival, Latitude and Oxegen the band seem to set for success.

Casiokids are due to release their new single ‘Finn Bikkjen!/Gomur Mamma’ on August 3rd. The band have confirmed the following live appearances:

July
9 Tunbridge Wells Forum
10 London The Garage
