Casey Lowery’s ‘Not Ready’ Is A Rousing Evocation Of Loss

The indie riser is making his mark...

Rising UK songwriter Casey Lowery returns with new song ‘Not Ready’.

Very much an independent success story, Casey Lowery has built a huge following with his frank, emotive, and often tender songwriting. Now working with label partner Mutineer Music Group, his single ‘Not Ready’ is Casey’s first in almost six months.

Co-produced by his trusted collaborator Raffer, the song itself is an evocation of grief. Casey Lowery lost his grandfather last year, and in his will he left the singer a caravan by the coast.

Spending time on his own in the caravan, Casey Lowery allowed himself to adjust to loss and accept grief, all while focussing on his craft.

‘Not Ready’ is a rousing return, with Casey Lowery pushing himself through this difficult period. Anthemic artistry that dares to be honest, it surges to that wonderful chorus – a true point of connection with the listener.

Casey comments…

The song is about the feeling of trying to process grief before it’s happened. It’s the push and pull of wanting to be super close to this person while knowing how much it’s going to hurt you when they’re no longer around. It’s about working out where your heart lies and what it can take.
