Caroline Polachek has shared an aria she wrote for new opera Last Days.
The production is helmed by Oliver Leith, and it acts as an adaptation of Gus Van Sant’s 2005 film, which focussed on the final days in Kurt Cobain’s life. Last Days opens in London’s Royal Opera House on October 11th, and features newly commissioned music.
Caroline Polachek contributed an aria, which she sculpted alongside A. G. Cook and PC Music lynchpin Danny L Harle. Titled ‘Non Voglio Mai Vedere Il Sole Tramontare’, the Italian translates as ‘I Never Want to See the Sun Go Down’.
It’s the latest blast of creativity from the future-pop auteur, whose 2019 album ‘Pang’ became a statement of transformation. Since then, she’s worked with Christine and the Queens, covered The Corrs’ ‘Breathless’, and unleashed her fantastic singles ‘Bunny Is A Rider’ and ‘Billions’.
