With indie super group Dirty Pretty Things beginning to wind down, frontman Carl Barat has revealed that he is to play a very special solo slot with Glasvegas.
Formed out of the ashes of the seminal Libertines, Dirty Pretty Things quickly became one of the biggest acts in the country with debut single ‘Bang Bang You’re Dead’ hitting the top ten. The group’s last album ‘Romance At Short Notice’ was released to lukewarm praise earlier this year, and the band decided that the time had come to move on.
Dirty Pretty Things will play their final gig at the Hackney Round Chapel on December 11th. Barat will continue to write music, and has now revealed that he is set to play a solo show at the Los Angeles Troubadour on January 14th.
The show will be headlined by Barat’s friends Glasvegas. The singer knows the band well, and James Allan’s recent delayed entry into America was rumored to be due to a boozy night with the former Libertine.
