Caribou To Release Live Album

Featuring Four Tet, Born Ruffians and more

Canadian producer Caribou is set to release a new double live album featuring a raft of guest stars.

Real name Dan Snaith, Caribou have leaped out of cult obscurity with their new album ‘Swim’. A stunning release, it is by far the most complete effort yet from the producer, mixing psych-pop and electronic influences.

Released to widespread acclaim, Caribou has spent the bulk of 2010 on tour. Playing a spectacular show at New York’s ATP event last summer, the producer is now set to press the set onto vinyl.

Curated by Flaming Lips, Caribou knew he had to pull out all the stops. The set draws on his back catalogue up to (but not including) ‘Swim’ and contains some stellar guest stars.

Caribou invite some spectacular company onstage, including Four Tet producer Kieran Hebden. Alongside this, the Canadian mastermind was joined by members of Born Ruffians and the leader of the Sun Ra Arkestra.

Other guest stars include Koushik, a five strong horn section and a total of four players. Resulting in a total of fifteen people onstage, ‘Caribou Vibration Ensemble Featuring Marshall Allen’ will be spread across 2 discs.

The album will not be available in shops, but fans can purchase the material from Caribou’s upcoming live shows. Due to play this weekend’s Offset festival, the Canadian producer is also set to appear at Bestival.

Meanwhile, Caribou has also confirmed a handful of British headline shows. The producer will play London’s Coronet on November 19th, while other shows in Glasgow and Leeds have been organised.

The producer’s busiest year yet, Caribou will finish 2010 with a show at All Tomorrow’s Parties.

Caribou has confirmed the following headline shows:

November
19 London Coronet
20 Manchester Warehouse
21 Glasgow ABC
22 Leeds Brudenell Social
23 Bristol Thekla
24 Brighton Coalition

December
7 Minehead All Tomorrows Parties
