Can bass player Holger Czukay has passed away, it has been reported.
The bass player formed part of the group's legendary rhythm section, pairing up with Jaki Leibzeit to forge new paths for rock music.
Dubbed 'Krautrock' by the British and American media, the reality is that Can's music flooded past any terms placed in its way.
Later becoming a pioneer of sample-based composition, Holger's 1979 album 'Movies' is a seminal work in that field.

Farewell Holger Czukay. A true one off, sonic visionary. This one feels fittingly apt. :-( https://t.co/ikBczklSOw— Optimo (Espacio) (@JDTwitch) September 5, 2017
