The entire studio output from seminal German group Can is set to be re-issued on vinyl.
For years, Can's discography was poorly treated. Albums faded in and out of release, with countless examples of rare material falling between cracks in the music industry.
Thankfully, all that seems to be changing. Mute and Spoon are set to re-issue Can's entire back catalogue on vinyl, in a whopping 17 piece box set. Containing 13 of the band's albums, gems include 'Out Of Reach' which has been unavailable since its release in 1978.
Alongside this, live document 'Can Live' is due to appear in the upcoming box set and won't be available anywhere else. Captured at Sussex University in 1975, the live album features the classic Can line up of Holger Czukay (bass), Michael Karoli (guitar), Jaki Liebezeit (drums) and Irmin Schmidt (keyboards).
Respected author Alan Warner provides sleeve notes for the 20-page 12” booklet which accompanies the box set, while fans can also expect plenty of unseen and rare photographs.
Can Vinyl Box will be released on December 2nd. Check out this archive interview with Can founding member Irmin Schmidt.
