Producer promises "no shite"

Scottish dance producer Calvin Harris has confirmed he is to launch his own record label this May.

Calvin Harris began life as an underground house producer, before deciding that interfering with the mainstream was better than cult acclaim.

Scoring a series of massive hits, Calvin Harris became one of the most successful artists in British dance music. Baiting critics, the Scottish producer has become a controversial figure - in part due to his chart domination.

Now Calvin Harris has revealed plans to launch his own record label. The Scottish producer will helm Fly Eye Records, which he intends to kickstart with a series of new releases throughout May.

The first signing to Fly Eye Records is Mr Blink. Best known for his support slots at Calvin Harris shows the anonymous DJ regularly performs in disguise.

Mr Blink is set to release the track 'Gecko' this May. The upcoming single is currently playing on the producer's MySpace page - click HERE to listen!

In a statement Calvin Harris claimed he wanted to foster new talent. "My goal for Fly Eye is to release the most exciting club music I can get my hands on," Harris said. "There will be absolutely no shite."

Presumably he's not releasing his own material then! We joke, we joke.

Meanwhile, Calvin Harris is set to DJ at a very special BRITs after show party tonight (February 16th). The Scottish dance star will perform at London's Shepherds Bush Empire alongside Kasabian, La Roux and more with all proceeds being donated to War Child.
