Scottish dance producer Calvin Harris has raged against the makers of early morning television program GMTV.
Calvin Harris is one of the most successful producers in dance music. Beginning as an underground house talent, the Dumfries born beat boffin quickly realised his pop potential with a series of titanic hits.
Soundtracking last summer with his Dizzee Rascal collaboration ‘Dance Wiv Me’ Calvin Harris returned to rule the roost this year. Recalling the trance hits of yore ‘I’m Not Alone’ was a festival rocking anthem.
However this doesn’t mean that everyone likes his music. The makers of GMTV dubbed his material ‘too dancey’ for the show, which has provoked a furious response from the Scottish dance producer.
Speaking on Twitter, Calvin Harris revealed his discontent. “GMTV won’t let me on their exceptionally dull programme to do ‘Flashback’ because i’m ‘too dancey’!” he wrote. “IT’D WAKE YOUR VIEWERS UP. FUCK GMTV.”
Continuing, Calvin Harris responded to fans asking why he cared to much about the show. “A lot of people saying, ‘Why would you want to go on GMTV?’ – PROMOTION – People need to know you have a record out!”
This isn’t the fire rant Calvin Harris has posted. The decision by YouTube to remove his latest video was met with a flurry of Twitter statements by the producer, who was furious with their actions.
Calvin Harris signed off with a threat to break into the GMTV studios. “Look out @GMTV i’m breaking in tomorrow,” he wrote. “I’ll be the guy wearing the FLASHBACK T-shirt, setting fire to BEN SHEPHERD’S TIE AND HAIR”
