New York club force Cakes da Killa has shared new single ‘Cakewalk’.
Out now, it’s part of a run of energy from the multi-hyphenate, who blends R&B, jazz, hip-hop, and other aspects with his house-drenched sound. Recently returning with ‘Sip Of My Sip’, Cakes rips it up once more on this new release.
‘Cakewalk’ is a fun, tongue-in-cheek song of revenge, a real warning to a significant other. Lyrically, Cakes da Killa is asserting his worth, and reminding that special someone that if things don’t improve… he walks.
Catchy as hell, ‘Cakewalk’ is a club bubbler from someone who has spent 10 years perfecting the art. He comments…
“‘Cakewalk’ is a warning to an intimate partner that’s playing in your face. Drawing inspiration from classics like Kelis’ ‘Caught Out There’ and Blu Cantrell’s ‘Hit ‘Em Up Style’ because who doesn’t love a record that spells out exactly how you’re feeling when a relationship starts getting rocky.”
Out now via Young Art Records, you can check out ‘Cakewalk’ below.
