Cadenza’s ‘Parking Spot’ Is An Absolute Mover

Yxng Bane and Shenseea make stellar guest spots...

It's Friday, so it's time to spin some absolute movers.

Cadenza has spent all summer specialising in rocking the dance, and new single 'Parking Spot' is no exception.

It's a bashment-tinged slice of tropical groove, the subtle kick in the rhythm set against those autotune-draped vocals.

Yxng Bane – responsible for that addictive 'Shape Of You' redub – stars, while Shenseea is also on hand to push the vibes that little bit harder.

Cadenza explains:

"A few months ago I was a bit bored of my studio routine so I hit up Jarreau Vandal and said I wanted to come out to Amsterdam and chop up some ideas. There was a crazy snowstorm but I eventually got to his spot down by the docks. We started one idea and as we were messing with it, I pulled up this drum break and Jarreau started playing this dancehall pattern."

"The vibe was instant though, it reminded me of some ’93 vibes so we opened a new project. I added a bass line and the chords in the chorus and then we were both bouncing round his room within 10 minutes. I sat on the track for ages and then I linked up with Yxng Bane a couple months ago and his eyes lit up straight away. He’s so versatile, and the way he attacked the flow was exactly what i was looking for, a kind of Super Cat meets Kartel vibe."

"I flew out to Jamaica the next month and met up with Shenseea at Big Yard. She had just this big record with Kartel called Loodi so everything fell into place for me. I played it for her and she just got straight up and murdered it."

Summer may be fast disappearing but Cazenda keeps the energy alive with this stellar system-ready gem.
