Cadence Weapon, the 21 year old wunder kind of Canadian hip hop, has been lauded as the best new MC / producer to come out of North America in the past few years. Who’d have thought his real name was Rollie Pemberton then?
The Weapon will be hoping to discharge at venues across the UK as he announces his first British tour. The trademark Cadence Weapon sound draws on soulful house as well as street level hip hop, and his latest album – “Afterparty Babies” – reaches out to the mainstream whilst retaining his underground edge. He is already held in high regard by some British musicians, with Klaxons inviting him onstage to rap with them.
