Isle of Wight’s psychedelic wonders The Bees have announced plans for a special mix album, due out on Tirk Records on May 5th.
The Bees are currently hard at work in the studio on the follow up to last year’s acclaimed LP “Octopus”, but have found the time to compile a CD of influences, contemporaries and some archive material from The Bees’ archives.
Titled “The Sound Selection”, it contains material by such greats as The Staples Singers, Muddy Waters, Silver Apples and Dillinger. A massive blend of genres, the mix spans continents and acts as a great insight into the minds of The Bees.
The Bees’ “Sound Selection” will be released on May 5th.
