Speculation is mounting that Burial could be set to release a new EP later this month.
One of the most illusive, inspirational artists in the bass universe, Burial works at his own pace. Just before Christmas last year, the producer dropped the lengthy 'Truant' EP which found Burial experimenting with longer, less club-aligned forms.
Now it seems that the Hyperdub artist could repeat the trick. Numerous sources are reporting that Burial is preparing to release a new EP, with most seeming to cite NPR as the root of speculation.
Yet all has not quite come into focus. NPR report a release date of December 16th, while Resident Advisor uses the rather more general "later this month".
It's worth noting that nothing official has yet emerged from Hyperdub: the label's social network feeds are quiet, while Kode9 – who is thought to be extremely close to Burial – has yet to confirm anything.
More on this as it comes in.
Until confirmation comes our way, why not check out this extremely rare Burial interview from 2007.
