Kode9 breaks the news

Reclusive producer Burial is set to release a new EP titled 'Kindred' on Hyperdub shortly.

Burial's slim back catalogue belies the producer's activity in 2011. The one off 12 inch 'Street Halo' seemed to remind everyone just why he was so special, crafting a uniquely atmospheric form of industrial house music.

Alongside this, Burial found time to collaborate with Four Tet and Thom Yorke for another vinyl one shot before finally unveiling his much discussed Massive Attack remix. Using his given name, the producer also oversaw sessions for Jamie Woon's bass infused debut album which earned critical acclaim.

Now the producer is preparing to release a new EP. Kode9 broke the news via his Twitter, revealing that the EP is due to be released on Hyperdub shortly. "HDB059 Burial - Kindred EP. Join Hyperdub mailing list for news. Vinyl/digital and def less than 25quid".

A reference to the Vinyl Factory pressing of the last Massive Attack / Burial 12 inch? Quite possibly.
