Bullion Announces New Album ‘Affection’

Listen to 'Rare' with Carly Rae Jepsen now...

Electronic producer-artist Nathan Jenkins aka Bullion has today announced new album ‘Affection’, out April 26th.

‘Affection’ will be Bullion’s first release with Ghostly International, and is teased with lead single ‘Rare’ featuring Carly Rae Jepsen. The single, and album at large, sees Bullion embrace tenderness and the playful expanse of pop songwriting through his signature avant-garde approach. Recorded after relocating from to London from Lisbon, Bullion found inspiration within contemporary expressions of masculinity, “morning swims, adolescent fears and a book of poems his Dad wrote as a young man”.

The album reveal comes with the 80s-inspired torch song, ‘Rare’, which emerged during sessions for Jepsen’s recent album in Toronto. Of their link-up, Jepsen explains: “I’ve been a fan of Bullion from the first listen. His music just sends me some place good every time. We started writing together over zoom sessions in lock down and then met in real life in Toronto, London and LA. When I first reached out to him, I said “it would be fun to see how your world of music and mine could play together” and it’s been one of the coolest discoveries. To be featured on Rare is such a sweet start to 2024. And as a fan still, I’m really looking forward to this whole album”.”

An enduring figure within forward-facing indie and electronic music, Bullion’s production credits span today’s collaborator Carly Rae Jepsen, Ben Howard, Nilüfer Yanya and Avalon Emerson’s breakout album ‘& The Charm’, in addition to records by Westerman and Joviale. His solo releases have been released on Young, The Trilogy Tapes, Jagjaguwar and his own DEEK Recordings.
