American songwriter Buck Meek will release new album ‘Haunted Mountain’ on August 25th.
Part of the Big Thief creative nexus, the ever-productive group match their main, collective endeavours against a myriad of solo projects. Buck Meek’s own work is well worth exploring, with 2021 album ‘Two Saviors’ winning across the board praise.
Out on August 25th, new album ‘Haunted Mountain’ follows this, and it gently pushes his work in fresh directions. Set to be released on 4AD, the lyrics discuss matters of the heart, aiming to tackle ‘the love song’ from a different angle.
“Not break-up songs, but an actual love song written in earnest? That is taboo now,” he says in a press note. “Sometimes it can feel like all the great love songs have already been written.”
The title song is online now, a soothing, heartfelt hymn penned alongside his friend and long-time hero Jolie Holland.
