Bryan Ferry To Re-Work Groove Armada

New version of track due

Bryan Ferry is set to re-work a track he recently recorded with dance dons Groove Armada.

Over the years Groove Armada have hooked up with a litany of guest stars. Adding vocals to the London duo’s slick production, the results have propelled the dance dons into chart heaven.

On last year’s album ‘Black Light’ however Groove Armada broke new ground. Recording with lounge lizard Bryan Ferry the group coaxed a wonderful performance out of the Roxy Music legend.

Now it seems that Bryan Ferry is to re-work the track, giving the dance duo a taste of their own medicine. Speaking to BBC 6Music, Groove Armada star Tom Findlay revealed that the singer planned on releasing his own version.

“This track’s going to appear in two different forms – one on our album and one on his new album, which is coming out this summer” he revealed. Ferry’s version is set to be called ‘Shameless (Rock ‘n Roll Desire)’.

Continuing, the producer revealed that Bryan Ferry had to be convinced to enter the studio with Groove Armada. “He’d never done a collaboration before, he keeps his own counsel and he’s quite circumspect,” he told 6 Music news.

“We sent him a few tracks and the actual song he really liked, he recorded the vocal on it and then we totally changed the backing track because we thought his vocal needed something else.”

The collaboration will continue this summer. Groove Armada host The Lovebox Weekender in London, with this year’s headliners being none other than… Roxy Music.
