Electronic figure Bruce has shared beautiful new record ‘Not Ready For Love’.
Out now on Timedance, it caps a vivid year for this digital creator, who shared his EPs ‘Not’ and ‘Ready’ earlier this year. Part of a stellar run, this new album provides enigmatic talent Bruce with a broader palette to paint on.
A lush 14-track affair, it opens with the dulcet ‘Rush Of Love’ before moving through the fragility of ‘Casa Mastella’ and the clipped electronics of ‘Hot One’.
Incorporating club-focussed production aspects into his work, Bruce seems to break down these tropes, re-assembling the splinters in the process.
‘I’m His Ex’ offers languorous autobiography, before closing statement ‘Moonsistent’ is infused with warmth. Reminiscent of those early Darkstar 12 inches in places, or even YMO, ‘Not Ready For Love’ is a beautifully probing electronic statement.
