It's a cross section of the Australian city's jazz-leaning underground...

Brownswood are set to profile Melbourne's incredibly fertile underground scene on new compilation 'Sunny Side Up'.

The Australian city is gaining an international reputation, with a series of crews and collectives linking with their London counterparts to open out fresh conversations.

Groups such as 30/70 and Mandarin Dreams are essentially feeder streams for these experimentations, rooted in jazz but continually aiming outwards.

New compilation 'Sunny Side Out' was recorded across the space of one week at The Grove, a vital hub for musical innovation in the North Melbourne suburb of Coburg.

Engineered by Nick Herrera (Hiatus Kaiyote, Nai Palm, 30/70), with Silentjay as musical director, the nine track compilation is a rich, diverse, cross section of Melbourne's underground community.

Out on July 19th, it's led by fascinating new cut 'Galaxy', recorded by Dufresne.

Tune in now.

'Sunny Side Up' will be released digitally, on CD, and on vinyl from July 19th - order LINK.
