Broken Social Scene mainstay Kevin Drew has confirmed plans to release new album 'Darlings' this March.
One of the guiding lights behind Canada's indie rock explosion, Broken Social Scene decided to take an extended break back in 2011. Since then, fans have traced every subsequent solo project and offshoot – yet Kevin Drew remained frustratingly out of reach.
Now the songwriter has marked his return. New album 'Darlings' will be released via Arts & Crafts (while City Slang handle the European venture), with a Stateside date of March 18th being scheduled.
In Drew's own words: "This record is a celebration of memories. It’s about the rise and fall of love and sex, in my own life and in today’s society. This topic has been with me for years. I approached it focused purely on the songwriting, leaving all the tricks and explosions behind. I hope you like it… and if you don't, give to someone who will."
Co-produced by Kevin Drew, Dave Hamelin, and Graham Lessard, 'Darlings' is the follow up to the songwriter's 2007 solo set 'Spirit If…'
