The BRIT awards have given British album sales a massive boost with Kings Of Leon leaping back to number one on the official chart.
The recent ceremony was a typically glitzy affair, watched by a television audience of millions. The massive boost in profile is matched by a huge sales rush, with big winners and performers from the night storming back into the top ten.
Double award winners Kings Of Leon soar back to the top spot with a 50% sales boost, as ‘Only By The Night’ knocks Lily Allen from the pinnacle after only one week.
Returning indie legend Morrissey had to make do with number three, as new album ‘Years Of Refusal’ became the week’s highest new entry.
Duffy also enjoyed a sales boost. The Welsh singer won an astonishing three awards, and her album ‘Rockferry’ moved up fifteen places in the chart.
The Ting Tings performed on the night, and their album ‘We Started Nothing’ raced up the charts to number eight buoyed by a sales boost of more than 80 percent.
