Bristol’s Saloon Dion Share New Scorcher ‘I Don’t Feel’

A chorus-soaked nod to 80s new wave and post-punk...

Bristol’s Saloon Dion, aside from having one of the best band names about right now, are easily one of the most exciting up-and-comers around. Their unique take on the latest rendition of the saturated post-punk scene has them slipping through any net, with their witty brand of danceable, raw and downright catchy punk rock. 2022 saw the band release a pair of singles, and now they’ve finally returned, giving us the first taste of what Saloon Dion are going to bring to 2023.

The new single comes in the shape of ‘I Don’t Feel’, a chorus-soaked nod to 80s new wave and post-punk but remains quintessentially Saloon Dion. Vocalist Dave Sturgess sounds like he’s yelling into a stairwell, his reverb-heavy voice being the slick surface of the track. Tasteful guitar works weaves in and out too, scratchy and forked, while Ben Molyneux’s engine-like drumming keeps the track chugging along. Despite the high-fidelity and pop polish and pristine nature of ‘I Don’t Feel’, Saloon Dion never once lose their edge and raw quality.

With whispers of even more music in 2023, plus a plethora of shows and their first foray to the United States, Saloon Dion are refusing to slow down. ‘I Don’t Feel’ is the band continuing to make strides in the right direction. Their ability to shape-shift with every release, especially to such a high calibre, is a rare and desirable asset, and is one that is truly going to have Saloon Dion hitting the global stage.

Tune in now.
