Genius lynch pin of The Beach Boys and all round musical maestro Brian Wilson has revealed details of his new album “That Lucky Old Sun”, set to be released on September 2nd.
The new album sees Wilson return to Capitol Records – the label that was the original home of the Beach Boys more than 40 years ago. “That Lucky Old Sun” will come out on CD, DVD and digital download on September 2nd – a limited edition vinyl version of the album came out on August 19th.
The new album was inspired by the 1949 song “That Lucky Old Sun” and much of the material was showcased in a series of gigs at London’s Royal Albert Hall last September.
“That Lucky Old Sun” was produced by Brian Wilson himself, and was put down on tape in the legendary Capitol Studios in Hollywood – where the Beach Boys themselves previously recorded.
