Brian Eno is set to preview his new EP ‘Panic Of Looking’ at the Stateside event MOOGFEST.
Brian Eno’s career is punctuated by periods of frenzied activity followed by bouts of silence. Thankfully, it seems that the seminal artist is now entering a creative high spot with numerous projects under way.
The producer partnered the poet Rick Holland for new album ‘Drums Between Bells’ earlier this year. A fascinating collection between electronic music and the spoken word, recording sessions spilled over into areas which couldn’t be included on the album.
As a result, Brian Eno and Rick Holland are readying the new EP ‘Panic Of Looking’. Available through Warp from November 7th, the producer has revealed that he will preview the material at a Stateside event.
MOOGFEST is an American arts festival – held in the town of Asheville – which returns for another instalment later this Autumn. Brian Eno is due to appear, with the producer set to give the EP an exclusive early release at the event.
In addition to this, Warp Records will host a listening party for ‘Panic Of Looking’ while Brian Eno intends to give a one off illustrated lecture.
From the press release:
“Conceived by Eno as “visual music”, 77 Million Paintings is a constantly evolving sound and image-scape born from his exploration of light as an artistic medium and his interest in the aesthetic possibilities of generative software. Eno will also present one of his highly informative ‘Illustrated Talks’ during the Moogfest 2011 weekend.”
