Breton have signed to Fat Cat with a new UK tour set to open later this summer.
The influence of dubstep continues to creep across the wider British music scene. Magnetic Man have stormed the charts, while Wirral resident Forest Swords has mixed bass weight to a guitar template.
Emerging last year, London based group Breton have introduced dubstep to an indie arena. However this isn’t some forced crossover, rather the group have an equal love of both which is reflected in their music.
The band spent the bulk of 2010 releasing a string of different EPs, trying out new ideas in different settings. Alongside their music, Breton run bretonLABS – a visual company who have crafted videos for Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Flats and more.
Now Breton have made the leap onto a new label. Fat Cat have offered the band a deal, with work now beginning on their debut album.
As a special preview, the London band have decided to give away a demo cut on their Facebook page. ‘Pace Maker’ can be download for absolutely nothing if you head over HERE and click ‘Like’.
Alongside this, Breton have confirmed a support slot on tour with Tom Vek. The returning London producer has made waves with his second album, ending a five year period of silence.
Opening in Manchester next week (June 13th) the tour continues with shows in Glasgow, Birmingham and more. Tom Vek is due to play London’s Heaven venue on June 16th with Breton in two before the tour finishes in Brighton on June 18th.
Tickets are on sale now.
