R&B iconoclast Brent Faiyaz has shared new single ‘WY@’.
The American star recently shared his epic album ‘WASTELAND’, an act of fan service that lit up streaming services. Nailing more than one billion worldwide streams, the record smashed into the Billboard charts at No. 2.
The Clash reviewer wrote: “An artist who commands cross-genre respect, his particular brand of R&B has been much-imitated, but never truly bettered. If ‘WASTELAND’ stands as a creative, entertaining piece of brand reinforcement then perhaps he’s earned that right.”
Set to go on the road this month, Brent Faiyaz touches down in the UK, confirming huge shows in Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow, and Birmingham, before hitting London’s eventim Apollo on October 25th.
New single ‘WY@’ is a barbed piece of emotive R&B, a song about love, devotion, and the pain of parting. The lyrics linger on issues of trust, with Brent singing: “This time I’ll be through for real.”
