Brandt Brauer Frick are set to release their new album 'Miami' on March 11th.
A classically trained German ensemble, Brandt Brauer Frick have earned a reputation for managing to translate techno into a live environment. Expansive, all encompassing nuggets of propulsive electronic music, the trio are set to return next year with what is being billed as a stripped down new album.
Out on March 11th, 'Miami' finds Brandt Brauer Frick going back to basics. Stripping their production down, the trio invited a number of guest vocalists and fellow producers into the studio including Jamie Lidell, Om’Mas Keith (producer of Frank Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange’, Kanye West, Jay Z), Gudrun Gut (Einsturzende Neubauten), Erika Janunger as well as Russian DJ and producer Nina Kraviz.
Paul Frick recently mused on the differences between previous LP 'Mr Machine' and the upcoming album. "('Mr Machine) was very planned and strict,” he explained. “We wanted to be more spontaneous this time. We wanted to do something very different, more dark and more rough. We wanted to write songs rather than tracks that slowly evolve.”
