A continually enthralling concert experience, Slayer have not released a studio album since 2009's 'World Painted Blood' set.
Well mortals, the wait is over. The thrash godheads have kicked off work on their latest LP, which will be released through their own label.
As-yet-unnamed, the imprint will be part of the wider Nuclear Blast group. Slayer were glad to move forward, but quickly praised their spell on Rick Rubin's American Recordings label.
Tom Araya: "Rick has played a huge role in our career, we've made some great albums with him. But today is a new day, record companies don't play the kind of role they once did, and we really like the idea of going out on our own, connecting directly with our fans, and Nuclear Blast is fired up about taking on that challenge with us."
As theQuietus point out, Slayer have placed new track 'Implode' online and it's a mighty work of metal bedlam. Grab it HERE.
Slayer have also announced another lengthy burst of international shows, including a performance at Sonisphere. Check out the full list of dates HERE.
