Brighton four piece Brakes are currently hard at work in the studio recording their third album, which they have given the provisional title of “Thunk”.
The band were formed by members of British Sea Power and The Electric Soft Parade, and have earned a cult following due to extensive touring and two quickfire albums – “Give Blood” and “The Beatific Visions”.
It is two years since the group last released an album, and fans are waiting with baited breath to see where this innovative band are heading. Bassist Marc Beatty wrote a Myspace blog explaining the band’s work process “We’ll be safely tucked away, busily furrowing away on album three.”
He went onto explain that a recent single by Royworld titled “Brakes” had left the band somewhat confused. We had a shock whilst driving recently when after said song the DJ announced: ‘That was Brakes…’. There was a moment of pure panic, had we all blacked out for several months and morphed into a generic, half time, anthemic pop rock group? ‘……by Royworld,’ the DJ continued.”
There is no release date for the third Brakes album.
