Boy George has been accused of “ripping off” the artwork for Kylie Minogue’s ‘Tension’.
The flamboyant English pop star is back, with new single ‘Religion’ out now. There’s just one issue – eagle-eyed observers reckon it strays too close to the design for Kylie Minogue’s recent album ‘Tension’.
Soaring into the charts last year, Kylie’s ‘Tension’ was captured by British photographer Haris Nukem, and the packaging – including the font and overall design – was created by Studio Moross.
In turn, Boy George does seem to lean on similar influences – the framing and set-up is the same, while the font contains parallels in terms of typography.
Here they are side by side:
Fans deluged Boy George online, accusing him of being “naughty” and “ripping off” the Australian pop princess.
Boy George took it in his stride, insisting he was “recycling” – “it’s all the rage,” he commented.
I'm recycling everything. It's all the rage. Even fashion is catching on? https://t.co/CRnKM9qTdA

The row wouldn’t go away, however – and Boy George seemed to have fun baiting fans.
Or utter genius! https://t.co/C4Tcx6Tg9u

‘Religion’ is out now; and so is ‘Tension’, as a matter of fact.
