Boxteles Ruffle Feathers With Charged Single ‘Relevant’

The Huddersfield quintet are back...

Huddersfield’s Boxteles – made up of Tom Bedford, Ollie Harrison, Alex ‘Rex’ Richardson and Oliver Perry – bite back against consumerism and the greyness of our digital reality on new single ‘Relevant’. The track pulses with racing high-hats and heavy strums, raspy singalong vocals rousing the listener into a state of frenzied rebellion.

Following 2021’s EP ’Break-Ups, Bevs & Thinking Ahead,’ there’s a sense the band are settling into a sound that is distinctly their own. The quintet emerged on the rock scene in 2018, situating themselves amongst the genre’s main players. Whether it’s spending time in the studio with The 1975 collaborator Mike Spink or supporting the likes of The Lottery Winners and Larkins, Boxteles join a continuum of Northern bands engaging with contentious sociopolitical rhetoric.

The band will embark on ‘The Relevant Tour’, performing for crowds in a hometown show, in addition to gigs in York and London.
