Bono In Hospital

U2 re-arrange tour dates

Irish rock giants U2 have been forced to cancel several shows after singer Bono underwent emergency surgery.

One of the biggest bands on the planet, U2 are currently rushing through their most extravagant tour in over a decade. Throwing themselves back into the world of stadiums, the group perform in the centre of an enormous claw.

However the band’s North American tour has been thrown into chaos after singer Bono was taken to hospital. Undergoing emergency surgery on his back, the frontman has been laid low by the treatment.

Issuing a statement on the band’s official website, manager Paul McGuinness broke the news to fans. “The band were really looking forward to getting back on the road until the emergency surgery on Bono’s back which took place in Munich today.

“We were due to start rehearsals on Tuesday in Salt Lake City and get the show ready for the next leg, and there were going to be some changes and some new material. It’s unfortunate that we’re inconveniencing fans – we will make plans to reinstate these dates as soon as possible.”

Continuing, the manager explained that the move has been extremely disruptive to both fans and crew. “Obviously it’s been very disruptive for our crew as well. We had over 400 people converging on Salt Lake City, and some of those have been turned around and told to stay at home until we make our new plan.”

After completing their North American tour U2 were scheduled to head to Europe. Due to headline this summer’s Glastonbury festival, these plans have now been placed in jeopardy.

Get well soon Bono!
