Bon Iver Tackles Anais Mitchell

An exquisite version of 'Coming Down'

Bon Iver have recorded a beautifully pared back version of the Anais Mitchell classic ‘Coming Down’ for Australian radio station Triple J.

When Bon Iver first emerged, clutching debut album ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’ they seemed to represent a singular, unique songwriting vision. So when the group began peppering their set with covers, it came as a relief to find that their music did – after all – have some solid, recognisable roots.

Roots which were often unexpected. Dropping by Australian radio station Triple J recently, Bon Iver were invited to record a cover for their ‘Like A Version’ series.

Deciding to run through the Anais Mitchell classic ‘Coming Down’ Justin Vernon is joined by only a few guest musicians. A beautifully pared back rendition, just wait for the breathy saxophone solo towards the end…
