A new songwriting study of Bob Dylan has been made available as an iPhone application.
Bob Dylan is simply one of the most iconic songwriters to have graced pop music. There is barely a busker on the planet who can’t perform one of his tracks, with the singer’s back catalogue retaining its popularity.
Now a new iPhone application has been launched which offers a guide to Bob Dylan’s songwriting. The Little Black Songbook Of Bob Dylan includes complete lyrics and chords to over 60 classic songs.
Both lyrics and chords are included, giving fans a complete guide to the track. Well known for his thought provoking and deeply influential lyrics, Bob Dylan’s chord structures are in themselves quite innovative.
Blending together different folk styles, his simple rhythm guitar playing allowed his voice more room to operate. Each song has its own chord library where you can view historic details and hear the chords used.
The lyrics are professionally transcribed, allowing fans to read the songs as documents in themselves. Much studied, Bob Dylan’s lyrical style retains its power more than 40 years after the songs were composed.
Amongst the 60 songs contained on The Little Black Songbook Of Bob Dylan are some absolute classics. Providing a decent cross section of his early career, the iPhone application focuses on those early folk driven years.
Containing some later material, The Little Black Songbook Of Bob Dylan includes such classics as ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’, ‘Like A Rolling Stone’ and ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’.
Focussing on the classics, there are a few lesser known gems in amongst the standard busker fare.
Available on both the iPhone and iPad, The Little Black Songbook Of Bob Dylan is available to download HERE.
