Bob Dylan Neighbour Row

Portable toilet at centre of dispute

Iconic songwriter Bob Dylan is at the centre of a row with his Malibu neighbours, who claim his portable toilet is creating nasty smells.

Bob Dylan is due to return later this year with his new solo album ‘Together Through Life’. One of the most highly praised artists in rock history, it is difficult to imagine him putting a foot wrong at the moment – artistically at least.

According to neighbours sea breezes are blowing hideous smells from the toilet, which uses a variety of chemicals to deal with waste. One resident, Cindy Emminger, even claims the smell has made both herself and her son ill as they are allergic to certain chemicals.

According to an interview with the Los Angeles Times the neighbour claims she even went as far as installing five industrial sized fans in order to blow the smell back.

However this plan failed. “It’s a scandal — ‘Mr. Civil Rights’ is killing our civil rights,” Cindy Emminger’s husband told the paper.

According to the report when Bob Dylan applied to install the toilet in 1989 it was found to be not accessible to handicap people. The songwriter then delivered a hand-written message saying handicapped people wouldn’t be using it.

Which doesn’t seem like a solution, really, but it’s his house.

The case is ongoing.
