Bloom Twins’ ‘Drunk & Loud’ Is An Anthem For Outsiders

With political context to the video, too...

Dark-pop pairing Bloom Twins have shared new single ‘Drunk & Loud’.

The real-life identical twins were born in Ukraine, but are now based in London. Melding together delicious synth pop aspects with a hint of darkness, the pair infuse each song with their own experiences.

Out now, new single ‘Drunk & Loud’ is an anthem for outsiders, a raucous return that speaks up for the misfits. A song about subverting power, the single takes on added resonance when cross-referenced with their own Ukrainian roots.

Co-written and produced by Sam Harris from the X Ambassadors, the song comes from a deeply personal place. In a note, Bloom Twins comment: “’Drunk & Loud’ is a very important song to us. We consider this song to be an anthem to outliers, misfits. It’s about the power, and resilience from unity of outnumbered. We are David from ‘David and Goliath’. Do not underestimate the power of underdogs.”

The video utilises symbolic meaning, with Bloom Twins referencing the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces. The duo explain:

“Our music video tackles the crucial issue of the war in Ukraine. We play the roles of two Ukrainian girls taken on by a gang of Russian mobsters, even though we’re clearly outnumbered. My twin sister represents the annexed and occupied regions of Ukraine, while I embody the areas fighting for unity and victory against Russia.”

Tune in now.
