Nigerian riser Bloody Civilian has shared new song ‘Escapism’.
The all-rounder has been snapped up by Def Jam/0207 Def Jam, releasing just three phenomenal songs to date. Rightly hailed as a bold new face for music, her debut EP ‘Anger Management’ brings together the broad range of sounds that fuel her.
The EP is incoming, and it darts between R&B and Jersey Club, utilising pop aspects and Amapiano alongside club tropes. New single ‘Escapism’ illustrates her potent sonic blend, but it’s also a simply superb piece of songwriting.
Focussed and dynamic, escapism utilises a coy lyric, and an emphatic vocal, to prove its point – subtle but also wide open, Bloody Civilian gives herself space to evolve, while also stamping out a unique identity.
