Dev Hynes has confirmed that the fourth Blood Orange record is ready to be released.
The songwriter confirmed last October that his album was"78%" done, before releasing two bites of new music in time for Black History Month in February.
Now Dev Hynes has shared a new Instagram post, indicating that the fourth Blood Orange album is now ready for the world to hear.
Placing a sliver of new music in with the message, it's a pretty exciting development...
It's true: Blood Orange will release new album 'Negro Swan' on August 24th. Dev Hynes comments:
“My newest album is an exploration into my own and many types of black depression, an honest look at the corners of black existence, and the ongoing anxieties of queer/people of color. A reach back into childhood and modern traumas, and the things we do to get through it all. The underlying thread through each piece on the album is the idea of HOPE, and the lights we can try to turn on within ourselves with a hopefully positive outcome of helping others out of their darkness.”
