Akron, Ohio’s dynamic duo of the blues The Black Keys are set to unleash their new single ‘Same Old Thing’ soon, it has been announced.
Taken from the group’s Danger Mouse produced ‘Attack And Release’ album, ‘Same Old Thing’ is a stunning, shuffling blues number. The Black Keys have built a reputation for playing tough as nails blues songs, going as far as releasing covers album dedicated to Junior Kimbrough.
‘Attack And Release’ began as a collaboration with Ike Turner, the legendary rock ‘n’ roll pianist. However Turner died just a few weeks into recording sessions, and the album was finished in his honor. A new re-release of the record will include two new track – ‘I Believe In Love’ and ‘Lies’ – recorded with Ike Turner in tow. The package will also include a DVD of the band performing in Portland, Oregon.
The Black Keys release new single ‘Same Old Thing’ next month. The band will play the following UK tour dates:
November 11th – Rock City, Nottingham
November 12th – Brixton Academy, London
November 13th – Academy, Sheffield
November 14th – Academy, Newcastle
