Black Honey Return With New Single ‘Lemonade’

Black Honey have shared new single ‘Lemonade’.

The band returned with their stellar album ‘A Fistful Of Peaches’ earlier this year, smashing into the UK Top 10 in the process. In his review, Clash writer Josh Abraham wrote:

Cinematic splashes with honest lyricism feature in the twelve-track production and there is one thing this writer can tell about ‘A Fistful Of Peaches. It’s all about escaping the war in the mind, something that helps make Black Honey a band to admire.

New single ‘Lemonade’ is out now, with Black Honey also confirming plans for a huge series of UK headline shows. Discussing the single, the band’s Izzy Bee Phillips comments:

“I think we all got sold this ‘dream big’ concept. I’m having an existential realisation that we are just playing a game that’s designed to make rich people richer. I’m not sure what skills I learned in school other than capitalistic ones. They say when life gives you lemons make lemonade…well sometimes that’s just not f*cking doable. How about don’t make lemonade. How about the measure is to just exist and try and enjoy it, not take your bad situations and turn them into commercial gain.”

Zesty indie rock with a side order of pop sass, ‘Lemonade’ comes equipped with an all-new video. The director’s seat was occupied by Izzy herself, who worked on the clip alongside Craig Hemming.

She says: “The video is a 12 character portrait series about different types of disappointment. We named each one and wrote a story for them. I wanted the ones we would consider successful societally to still be failures.”

Tune in now.
